Extraordinary Care Earns Chris Garner in Respiratory Department at Dardanelle Regional the DAISY Award
"Every encounter with Chris Garner was met with expert advice, encouraging words and genuine compassion and respect for me," wrote a patient under Chris' care.

Chris Garner, LPN, is the latest Dardanelle Regional Medical Center employee to earn the DAISY award for the extraordinary care and compassion that he provides to patients and coworkers alike.
Chris, who works as a respiratory tech at Dardanelle Regional, received multiple anonymous nominations for the care he provided for a patient with pneumonia.
The first nomination read, “Every encounter with Chris was met with expert advice, encouraging words and genuine compassion and respect for me.” The patient added, “By the time I left the hospital, I was oxygen-free. Without Chris, I am positive I wouldn’t have recovered as quickly or maybe not recovered at all. I felt very respected and cared for while I was in the hospital, in a large part, because of Chris.”
A second nomination noted that Chris often works extra shifts to help his teammates and demonstrates integrity by “doing the right thing when caring for our patients and families.” Chris is known for “going the extra mile” for his patients from helping them to the bathroom, brushing their teeth, and spending extra time with his patients when they need additional help. The nomination added, “he demonstrates compassion because he truly cares about our patients and their families.”
